هي اصطلاح ڪنهن به معاهدي ٿيڻ وقت اوچتو ايندڙ وڏين تبديلين/ مسئلن جي ڪري پيدا ٿيندڙ صورتحال کي واضح ڪري ٿو. اِن تحت معاهدي جي شرطن ۾ اڻ سونهندڙ تبديلين جي صورت ۾ هڪ ڌُر معاهدو ڪرڻ کان انڪار ڪري ٿي، پر جيڪڏهن سندس زور تي ٻيهر طئي ٿيل شرطن جي بحالي ٿئي ته ان کي Rebus sic Staintibus چيو ويندو. بين الاقوامي قانون جي ماهرن هن شرط کي بدعهدي ۽ وعدن تان ڦرڻ لاءِ هڪ وڏي جواز طور ڳڻايو آهي، جنهن کي استعمال ڪندي، ڪنهن هڪ ڌُر کي عهدنامن تان هٿ کڻڻ ۾ مدد ملي. جديد دور جي سفارتڪاريءَ ۾ ان قسم جي عمل کي انتهائي محدود ڪرڻ جي ڪوشش ڪئي ويندي آهي. ويانا ڪنوينشن جي آرٽيڪل 62 ۾ ”اڻ ٽر تبديلين“ ۽ ”غيرضروري تبديلين“ ۾ فرق کي واضح ڪندي، بين الاقوامي معاهدن ۾ بدعهديءَ وارن روين جي رستي روڪ ڪرڻ جي ڪوشش ڪئي وئي آهي
